“My Academic Interests” 「私の学術的興味と関心」

　In the Academic Skills class of the Department of Liberal Arts for Career Development (CE), the students gave PowerPoint presentations about their academic interests. This was in preparation for writing their graduation theses (卒業論文) when they become 2nd-year students next year.

　The students used the PowerPoint tips that they learned in the previous class to make an interesting presentation for their classmates. They each spoke about what topics interested them and also took questions from their classmates.

　Comments from the students included:

“Everyone’s presentation was so good that I thought I had to try harder too.”
「みんなの発表が上手すぎて、自分も頑張らなくてはと思った。」

“From the comments, I was glad that everyone thought my viewpoint was interesting.”
「みんなからのコメントで、私の視点がおもしろいと思ってもらい良かった。」

“There were many diverse viewpoints and questions raised, so there were a lot of things I took from this experience.”
「どの人も、多角的な視点から疑問を投げかけたり問題提起をしたりして、参考にしたいところが多くあった。」

　Next week the CE students will begin to choose their seminar for next year. Let’s hope they will use this experience to help them make the right choice for themselves!
